Position Summary

Supports Marketing’s ability to deliver on brand, on budget and on time by leveraging technology, processes, vendors, and insights to support Marketing outcomes. In support of the Corporate Marketing Officer (CMO) and Director, Marketing Operations, this role facilitates strategic planning, budgeting and overall marketing financial management. He or she is responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements that ensure marketing best practices. He or she collaborates across the department and enterprise to deliver enhancements and new capabilities to Marketing’s marketing technology (MarTech) stack.  The Marketing Operations Manager must be able to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects at once.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.

Defines program scope, calendar, and deliverables for marketing technology (MarTech).  Manages technical aspects of key marketing systems including system enhancements, defects and/or new platform rollouts. Is responsible for communication/change management plans to increase engagement of MarTech with end users.  Works with data analytics partners to convey MarTech data needs and to evaluate performance of campaigns within the platforms.  Creates scalable processes that ensure best practices in MarTech development.  Partners to evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize marketing team performance.  

Develops, streamlines, documents, and oversees governance of marketing workflows, processes, and best practices. Identifies operational changes to increase effectiveness, efficiency and cost optimization with Marketing leads. Responsible for implementation of process improvements for long-term success.

Facilitates development of operational plans in support of the strategy. Partners to implement agile ways of working in support of strategic marketing plans.  Provides ongoing communication across the marketing and broader organization, sharing project updates, timelines, processes, and results.

Manages marketing vendor relationships, budgets, contracts, and approvals.  Seeks opportunity to provide marketing with value-added vendor management services in partnership with Sourcing & Vendor Management.  Collaborates with IT and other functions where shared ownership and collaboration improves ability to manage the vendor.

Minimum requested education equivalents:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, finance, management, information systems or related field and 7 years of marketing, project management, information systems or related experience; or

Associates degree in marketing, business, finance, management, information systems or related field and 9 years of marketing, project management, information systems or related experience; or

High School diploma or GED and 11 years of marketing, project management, information systems or related experience.

MBA or other advanced degree preferred, six years of marketing, project management, information systems or related experience.

Proven experience with implementing process improvements/efficiency required. In-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and project management tools preferred. Experience achieving business outcomes preferred. Strong technology acumen preferred. Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting and data analysis preferred. Working knowledge of the insurance industry, including business operations and terminology, preferred. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software required. Occasional travel, including overnight stays, required.
