Position Summary

Designs, constructs, tests, and maintains data management systems of moderate complexity used for reporting, analysis, and research. Supports ERIE’s software developers, database architects, analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives and ensures optimal data delivery consistently throughout ongoing projects. 

 

The incumbent will support financial accounting and reporting and will ensure financial data is complete, accurate, valid, and timely.

 

  • Candidates with above minimum qualifications may be considered for Senior Data Engineer. Number of years and scope of experience will determine level.
  • Candidates may be considered for remote work (within Erie footprint)
  • All Employees that work remotely must have access to internet service bandwidth speeds that meet ERIE’s requirement of 50 mbps download and 10 mbps upload.  
  • Current approved states for remote work are: DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, Washington DC, WV and WI

Duties and Responsibilities

Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements including automating manual data acquisition and optimizing data delivery.

Integrates new data management technologies into existing data structures.

Develops set processes of moderate complexity to prepare data for analysis, predictive modeling, and research.

Develops moderately complex programs to extract and manipulate analytical and research data.  Includes data from both internal and external sources.

Creates tools for data team members that assist them in research and analysis.

Works with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

Collaborates closely with business and IT partners to ensure data management technologies are designed and implemented as intended.

Completes special projects as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Educational Requirements and Experience Equivalencies:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field plus one year related experience; or

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field plus two years’ related experience; or

Associate’s degree in technical field, plus four years’ related experience; or

High school diploma plus six years’ related experience, required.
