Position Summary
Senior Network Administrator responsible for the planning, design, and purchasing of complex enterprise data network and network security infrastructure hardware and software technologies.
Role is responsible for and may lead the installation, configuration, upgrade/enhancement, maintenance/support, and scripting/automation of the network technologies within the network core and/or network security focus areas.
What You'll Do:
This is an opportunity for an IT Network Administrator or IT Sr Network Administrator and the focus of the work will be on the Network Security environment. That environment is critical for ERIE's security and network posture. An example of some of the infrastructure and services you will be working in are Cisco FTDs, web content filtering, VPN, and Cloud firewall deployment and troubleshooting. This role will be involved in enterprise scale projects as we continue to grow our Cloud footprint, secondary data centers, and edge security tools.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Works independently or leads others to install, configure, upgrade/enhance, maintain/support, scripts/automates hardware/software technologies, and develops and maintains system documentation within the network and network security practice area; Coaches and mentors other administrators.
- Establishes and monitors key metrics for capacity (forecasting, planning), license management, overall system health/performance and alerts, recommends and performs changes as required to tune Network systems in support of changing business requirements.
- Supports and/or leads large, high-risk, complex projects with high degree of scripting/configuration requirements and aggressive release delivery schedules.
- Conducts advanced troubleshooting as a first responder to major incidents in a 24/7 enterprise environment through analysis of system and event logs, application and network monitoring data, correlation of events across Network focus areas, including escalation to application owners or vendors as needed to achieve quick resolution and to determine root cause, and to participate in on-call on a rotational basis
- Establishes system controls within the network; monitors for remediation gaps to the minimum baseline standards (MBS), responds to and remediates vulnerability and audit findings, ensures system and data integrity, alerts to abnormal system and user activity, and develops, tests, and automates disaster recovery plans.
- Demonstrates deep knowledge of technologies, protocols, and tools utilized in the network core or network security focus areas; continuously develops working knowledge of other network focus areas and gains broader understanding of the overall computing environment; Follows ITIL standards; Embraces emerging technologies and principles.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience in a related technical field; and five years of professional experience in a related technical field; or
- Associate’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience in a related technical field; and seven years of professional experience in a related technical field; or
- High School degree and nine years of professional experience in a related technical field, required.
Additional Experience
- Experience with multiple aspects of network administration preferred.
- Network Core (Voice/Data) Focus includes: LAN, WAN, Internet, Wireless, Application Load Balancers (F5 BIG-IP), Packet Capture Analysis, OSPF and BGP dynamic routing protocols; ISE, ACI, DNA Center and/or Cloud network management; working with telecommunications carriers and ISPs to troubleshoot outages and issues; understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS); the OSI and TCP/IP model; Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
- Experience with multiple aspects of network security preferred.
- Network Security Focus includes: Firewall platforms and policy administration, Web Content Filtering, Network Access Control, and Packet Capture Utilities; Dynamic Routing and Cloud Security; Moderate to advanced knowledge of network protocols, security principles, access control models; network monitoring and troubleshooting tools; Solid proficiency in scripting and automation for network operations (e.g., Python, PowerShell); Strong understanding network segmentation, URL filtering, Cloud Security, Cloud PVC’s and dynamic routing; Experience with firewalls and network security mechanisms; Knowledge of network hardware and equipment (Cisco switches, router, Firewalls, etc.).
