Position Summary
Assists in the planning, design, and purchasing of moderate to complex enterprise systems, hardware, and software technologies
Role performs the installation, configuration, upgrade/enhancement, maintenance/support, and scripting/automation of systems, hardware, and software technologies within their area of system administration
Role requires experience within one of the following areas of system administration: Server Operating Systems; Middleware; Unified Communications; Enterprise System Monitoring; Employee Technologies; Cross-Discipline Capabilities
What You'll Do:
The opportunity is for an IT System Adminstrator or Sr IT System Administrator. This role works closely with several other operations groups including network, storage, database, infrastructure, PPS and multiple IT and business groups supporting NAS file recovery, AD access support, DDIN support (fixed addresses, DNS requests) and all windows servers within the server open systems footprint. Additional support is provided to PPS (FTP), middleware (IIS), database (SQL clusters), endpoints (Azure sync), etc... Role will support Application and Server Re-platforming, DRX testing/DRX exercises, Currency/Compliance work efforts, and ongoing continuous improvement efforts focused on automation and cloud migrations.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Windows Server Operating System administration
- Active Directory and associated tools (RSAT)
- Windows Clustering
- File share/user security permissions
- Core Services and protocols (DNS, DHCP, NTP)
- Authentication and Encryption protocols
- Understanding of IP protocols, VLANs, Packet Data Tracing, Firewalls, and DMZ network constructs
- Scripting/automation - (PowerShell, Python, API integrations, etc)
- Analytical problem-solving skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs, configures, upgrades/enhances, maintains/supports, scripts/automates hardware/software technologies, and develops/maintains system documentation within their area of system administration with minimal supervision.
- Maintains and monitors key metrics for capacity (forecasting, planning), license management, overall system health/performance and alerts, recommends and performs changes accordingly to tune systems in support of changing business requirements.
- Supports and/or leads low to moderate complexity work within an area of system administration; Participates in cross portfolio projects with low to moderate complexity that require scripting/configuration changes and aggressive release delivery schedules
- Collaborates and contributes to the resolution of major incidents across impacted technical domains in a 24/7 enterprise environment through analysis of system logs, correlation of events within admin-focus areas, assists with escalation to application owners or vendors as needed to achieve quick resolution and determine root cause, and participates in on-call on a rotational basis
- Supports system controls within their areas of system administration; monitors for remediation gaps to the minimum baseline standards (MBS), responds to and remediates vulnerability and audit findings, ensures system and data integrity, alerts to abnormal system and user activity, and develops, tests, and automates disaster recovery plans.
- Develops and maintains a broad understanding of the overall computing environment and knowledge of system administration concepts, technologies, protocols, and tools; Follows ITIL standards; Embraces emerging technologies and principles

Qualifications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience in a related technical field; and two years of professional experience in a related technical field; or
- Associate’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience in a related technical field; and four years of professional experience in a related technical field; or
- High School degree and six years of professional experience in a related technical field, required.

- Server Operating Systems: Windows and/or Linux Operating Systems, Active Directory and associated tools (RSAT), Container Platforms, Clustering Technologies, File/user security permissions, Core Services and protocols (DNS, DHCP, NTP), Authentication and Encryption protocols, Storage connectivity protocols, and hardware/virtualization/network best practices
- Middleware: Open systems middleware technologies (IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Replicated Data Queue Manager (RDQM), IBM DataPower, IBM API Connect, IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW), Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS)), Mainframe middleware technologies (IBM CICS, IBM Information Broker, IBM Message Queue)

- Enterprise System Monitoring: Monitoring toolchains (Application performance monitoring - AppDynamics), Infrastructure monitoring (Broadcom UIM), Log monitoring (Splunk), End user monitoring (Aternity), ServiceNow event management, Monitoring knowledge across technical domains (Server, Network, Storage, Database, Middleware)
- Employee Technology: Audio-Visual (AV) systems (Conference room technologies, displays, booking solutions, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx, VBrick webcasting), Desktop Administration (Windows operating systems, Active Directory Group Policy, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Citrix VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) and mobile administration, SQL knowledge, MS Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Feature management, Group and permission management)
