Position Summary

Applies an advanced understanding of the process used in the selection, evaluation and monitoring of investments. Develops analytic models and conducts investment research in support of the investment process. Also assists and mentors other investment analysts with conducting analyses and related studies. Assists with communications to industry contacts as necessary.

 

The Hiring Manager will also consider candidates for the Investment Analyst I. The level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examines and assesses economic and market trends, earnings prospects, financial statements and various other indicators and factors to determine suitable investments. Executes transactions as authorized by management.
  • Compiles research reports and presents findings and recommendations on new and existing investments.
  • Manages and leads the internal monitoring processes and procedures to keep abreast of assigned investments.
  • Forms and maintains relationships with industry contacts to establish and maintain an orderly information network and to keep up to date on changing economic and market trends. Evaluates and communicates to management the impact on the portfolio.
  • Reviews and prepares investment-related reports and legal documents as needed.
  • Works closely with and assists other Finance Divisions on any related questions, issues or projects by providing investment data and analysis as needed.
  • Updates and maintains various software packages and/or databases used to perform investment analysis. Produces timely and relevant reports to support the investment process and effectively communicates results to management.
  • Travels for investment due diligence and industry meetings as directed

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or related field required. Three years experience analyzing investment portfolios, investment performance, risk modeling or equivalent investment experience required. Advanced database management, spreadsheet skills and proficiency with Bloomberg preferred. Masters degree or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or in pursuit of CFA preferred.
