Position Summary

Provides analytical support to meet the compliance and operations needs of Erie Family Life (EFL). Researches and documents Erie Family Life's actions in response to new and/or revised laws and regulations. Assists in designing and implementing action plans to achieve compliance and operational efficiency. Participates in compliance and operations/vendor reviews, assisting in the creation and maintenance of appropriate documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Researches, analyzes, and develops responses to compliance issues and complaints. Gathers data, performs data analysis and prepares work pertaining to business rules, communications, forms, business and/or project requirements, and online updates. Implements action plans to achieve compliance.

Performs mandated compliance tracking and reporting for life and annuity products. Creates and verifies documentation in response to state insurance department market conduct audits.

Participates and leads reviews of other EFL departments to understand and gather information on current processes. Evaluates and recommends appropriate responses to new and existing compliance and operations issues or problems.

Develops and maintains an understanding of EFL's business practices and operations in order to assess the impact of new and revised laws and regulations, insurance department guidelines, and company standards and policies.

Identifies, gathers and analyzes data that support compliance operations, and Product development and management. Creates related reports that include analyses for executive summaries.

Works closely with the compliance and law functions to ensure processing and administration are compliant with applicable laws and regulations Acts as a subject matter expert on an assignedline of business or operational process and provides support to product development, project managers and life operations.

Assists in developing, maintaining, and enhancing compliance and vendor/operations tools to monitor projects, issues, inquiries, and measure desired outcome.

Assists in designing and implementing processes to track and document EFL compliance and operations/vendor items. Partners in the development and maintenance of all product applications, forms, and correspondence with Life Product and Process Analyst.

Gathers, and analyzes key metrics and creates summaries and reports that support operations and compliance.

Analyzes and remains current on industry trends and best practices as related to key business functions and operational metrics and works with management to identify opportunities for improvement.
Completes special projects as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field, or four years related experience required. Two years experience in an analytical or compliance role required. Life and annuity experience, preferably in the area of insurance operations, regulatory filing or regulatory response, business process analysis, internal audit, or internal investigations preferred. Trend analysis and dashboard reporting experience preferred. Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software required. Familiarity with database software and data analysis techniques  preferred.
