Position Summary

Plans and manages strategic marketing projects of high complexity and confidentiality. Leads critical initiatives to ensure results contribute business value and align with strategy. Develops and drives overall content strategy for the channels in this section.  Provides strategic counsel to internal and external business partners. Responsible for one or more of the following marketing functions or disciplines: advertising, a large product/business line/strategic initiative, customer/target marketing, promotional events, media relations, brand development, or content development.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.


Oversees objectives, plans and scope for section projects including expenses, tasks, deliverables, resources, assignments, and dependencies. Consults on change management impacts. Ensures coordination with business area and Centers of Excellence to schedule, prioritize and delegate tasks as required.


Manages the preparation of high-quality written materials for use by various stakeholders including the media, customers, agents and other influencers.


Identifies strategic marketing needs and opportunities related to targeted business objectives and develops effective solutions. Coordinates the development of creative, original storytelling material for pitching/placement.


Coordinates and builds vendor relationships as required. Works with appropriate management, legal and procurement representatives as appropriate to establish contractual terms and conditions.


Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external business partners.


Manages and leads marketing communications strategy for new products, services and tools as assigned. Creates proposals, promotional plans and creative materials. Develops and recommends new concepts as needed.


Oversees in-depth research and analysis related to assigned projects and issues. Provides research recommendations and interprets relevant data.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, organizational leadership or business-related field, required. Advanced degree preferred. Seven years experience in marketing, communications, or related field, required. In-depth knowledge of marketing and communications concepts and processes, current research and trends, project management processes, organizational change management concepts required. Supervisory experience preferred. General Insurance certification, or related designation, preferred. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software required.
