Position Summary
Manages all programs and processes related to market testing new non-core business offerings. Applies an innovation mindset and process to steward new sources of strategic revenue from concept to planning product launch. Leads design teams to introduce new businesses in market to properly adjust the offering, sales strategy, service delivery, and business model to capitalize on specifically identified market opportunities. For businesses that market test successfully, develops the business plan and execution strategy to accelerate full market launch in support of key objectives including revenue, profitability, brand loyalty, competitive advantage, and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities
Leverages human-centered design and lean product management techniques, typically in areas where ERIE has limited or no previous experience, to rapidly develop and test new businesses to bring to market. Communicates progress and results of market testing to executive and operational leader stakeholders across the company.
Tests, evolves, and makes real-time adjustments in the distribution and service models to optimize business results (e.g., customer attraction/retention, revenue generation, profitability). Ensures new business ideas are ambitiously tested while minimizing disruption to ERIE’s core business.
Acts as new business liaison for Employees, general management, Agents, and non-ERIE stakeholders. Responds to complex questions related to the new businesses being designed and tested.
Promotes a positive and productive work environment for project teams of internal and external resources from a wide range of disciplines (e.g., finance, law, market intelligence, sales and marketing, product development, customer service, IT), to effectively collaborate and market test ambitious and time-sensitive new business concepts.
For businesses that prove successful in testing, develops the full-scale vision and market launch plan. The plan will include the organizational model and cost structure required to scale the business, change management approach to drive adoption, and metrics to effectively monitor the health of the business as it is fully scaled.
Evaluates dynamic market trends and competitive landscape to inform new business concepts and market testing approaches.

Competencies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business, design, research and seven years’ experience, business operations or experience specific to non-core business development; or
Associate degree in a related field such as business, design, research and nine years’ experience, business operations or experience specific to non-core business development; or
High School Diploma and 11 years’ experience, business operations or experience specific to non-core business development, required.
Master’s degree preferred. Entrepreneurial, innovation or human-centered design experience preferred. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft suite, required. Working knowledge of presentation software preferred. Leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of project planning and software preferred. Overnight travel required.
