Position Summary

Under close supervision, processes quotes, applications, renewals and/or basic endorsements for designated lines of business.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and applies basic knowledge of rules, rates and procedures for quotes, applications, endorsements and/or renewals of designated lines of business.

 

Enters and updates policy records, applying appropriate rules and rates by accessing online manuals.

 

Contacts Agents and underwriters to obtain additional information as required.

 

Enters cancellations, expirations and partial cancellations into the system as required.

 

Develops and applies a basic knowledge of cancellation laws for states in which ERIE operates. 

 

Performs limited underwriting review and rates complex quotes, applications, endorsements or renewals as required.

 

Resolves problems and answers inquiries from associates, Agents, underwriters and management, in routine consultation with Level II and III input.

Acts as a liaison to Underwriting, Office of the President, Collections, State Bureaus, and State Insurance Departments on premium audit issues and answer audit-related complaints.

 

Assists the section supervisor with various projects.

Qualifications

Minimum education and experience requirements:

 

High school diploma, or GED, required. Experience providing clerical support related to the rating and/or processing of policies in underwriting application, endorsements, renewals or equivalent, preferred.

 

Basic knowledge of various online systems, such as BUNDL and ERIEbooks, preferred.

 

Passing score on LOMASelect tests required.

 

Ability to enter data with speed and accuracy, required. 

 

Willingness to pursue professional insurance/technology courses preferred.
