Position Summary

Performs administration of networks, systems and databases which affect critical enterprise platforms that cross the organization and that impact a significant number of stakeholders. May develop complex, enterprise wide solutions and/or introduce new vendor relationships and/or new technology. May perform duties in one or more of the following disciplines: Database System Network Middleware.


This is an opportunity for a Sr IT Administrator and will focus on:


  • Installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning and maintenance of middleware technologies
  • Installation of middleware product upgrades and patch updates
  • Research and testing of new, strategic middleware technologies
  • Assist business teams in configuration and deployment of application services, program initiatives and projects
  • Drive process improvements, efficiency enhancements, innovation, and automation activities
  • Management of security requests, audit/security questions, findings and remediations
  • Currency of technology documentation, metrics, dashboards and scorecards
  • Facilitation of daily intake activities


Preferred Experience and Skills:


  • Proficiency with WAS (Wepshere Application Server)
  • Proficiency with Data Power & API Connect
  • Proficiency with Business Process Manager
  • Proficiency with Linux
  • Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift
  • Proficiency with automation scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, GitLab or Jenkins

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs administration of networks, systems and databases including investigation and diagnostics of problems that are deep in multiple technologies and/or platforms and seeks root cause analysis in related domains. Completes projects/outcomes of high complexity.
  • Installs new network server hardware and other devices. Performs complex upgrades, troubleshoots and fixes of network hardware and software issues.
  • Implements, maintains, modifies and supports assigned applications. Works in conjunction with appropriate IT staff to complete project plans, define project scope and participates in systems integration activities.
  • Ensures maintenance of system, tracks systems performance regularly and identifies performance issues and tuning opportunities; recommends improvements where applicable.
  • Effectively communicates with customers, team members or other stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Participates as a team member and contributes to team projects. Mentors less senior staff members and provides peer review and technical oversight.
  • Assists in setting technical direction and strategy; provides insight to help inform leaders.

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, Business or related field, plus five years' related experience, or;
  • Associate's degree in a technical field, plus seven years' related experience, or;
  • High School Diploma plus nine years' related experience
