Position Summary
Facilitates agile processes and ensures team(s) is delivering value. Leads by example and creates an environment that fosters self-organization, cross-functionality, collaboration, conflict resolution, transparency and continuous improvement. Visualizes, communicates and radiates team information to keep their work and impediments visible to stakeholders. Mentors other scrum masters.
- There are 2 positions available.
- The hiring manager will consider candidates for 1 Scrum Master position and 1 Sr Scrum Master position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitates the work of agile team(s), including coaching team(s) and program to understand the agile mindset, framework, and practices. Holds team(s) accountable to their working agreements, agile values, and to the agile framework. Leverages multiple agile frameworks to improve team efficiency.
- Facilitates agile events and guides the team through execution of the agile practices to deliver outcomes prioritized by the product owner. Helps team gain clarity into team health, maturity and flow through appropriate use of information radars and metrics. Identifies efficiencies across multiple teams.
- Leverages metrics to enhance team performance and predictability. Onboards and mentors others on agile tools. Communicates overall progress, challenges and risks with stakeholders and program leadership.
- Works with centers of excellence to increase the effectiveness of the application of agile within the organization. Acts as a leader in the agile development realm. Shares insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments across the organization. Acts as a department continuous improvement champion, driving and facilitating organizational change improvements.
- Acts as a mentor/coach to less experienced scrum masters, agile team members and stakeholders and actively participates or leads the Scrum Master Community of Practice.
- Supports the team in using standard agile planning tools for product backlog (product requirements) management. Supports team's efforts to create high value products and outcomes.
- Manages dependencies across teams and coordinates all external team needs. Monitors and coaches team to improve team dynamics. Identifies and removes impediments that hinder progress and team performance. Provides support to the product owner.
- Models and facilitates adoption of agile standards, tools and best practices including ensuring team leverages corporate standards (i.e. security, quality, etc.).
- Identifies and escalates team performance issues and works with leadership to resolve as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, business, project management, or related field required; or
- Associate degree in a technical field, plus two years of related experience required; or
- High school diploma plus four years of related experience required.
Additional Experience
- Five years of project management experience, working as an agile team member, required.
- Two years of experience in a scrum master role required.
- Proficient in scrum methodologies and agile tools required.
- Operational understanding of the software development lifecycle required.
- Experience with Agile Development preferred.
- Experience in industry or technologies preferred.
Designations and/or Licenses
- Agile, scrum or project management certification (CSP, PMP, SAFe, CSM) preferred.
