Position Summary

Optimizes the overall efficiency of the business, affecting critical business processes and/or technology which may cross the organization and impact a significant number of stakeholders. Ensures enterprise systems work properly and meet management specifications, allowing the organization to work at peak performance. May perform duties in one or more of the following disciplines: Infrastructure, Application, Configuration, Domain, &/or Operations.


In addition to the general minimum qualifications below, the following are strongly preferred.

  • CCNP and/or CCIE certified or 10+ years of Network relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Network Devices/Assets
  • In-depth knowledge of gathering and defining network project requirements, developing, implementing or reviewing network drawings, network wirings, network engineering architecture and engineering design
  • In-depth knowledge of network asset installations - routers, switches, WAP, firewalls, MDF/IDF designs, wiring, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of performing network upgrades, troubleshooting and root cause analysis methods
  • In-depth knowledge of ITIL process areas as it pertains to Network domain items and Service Now tool


In addition to the general duties listed below, the following are specific to this opening:

As the Network Operations Domain Senior Solutions Engineer play a major role in network projects by creating, defining and designing solutions, developing network engineering blueprints, runbooks, procedures and detailed documentation for network projects, including voice, video, and core networking infrastructure. To accomplish this, you may:

  • Obtain customer requirements and create project plans and time schedules working with project managers as required
  • Provide oversight and technical guidance to network administrators/team members involved to take project to successful completion
  • Create, design, evaluate and document standards, blueprints, run-books, procedures for existing and new systems
  • Provide technical operation consultation to customers and technical staff to design and implement network infrastructure solutions and improvements
  • Assist with development of total cost of ownership models, budget expenditures by pricing complete solutions that are suggested and prioritizing purchasing needs; analyzing performance of suggested hardware and software for the implementations
  • Ensure proper understanding of technical information to staff and customers alike
  • Work with budget and management staff to clarify rationale for technical decisions and help educate them on unfamiliar technology concepts so they can understand the basis for the decisions
  • Determine the most cost-effective and efficient means to achieve the objectives of IT and provide recommendation to management
  • Define, own and maintain Network engineering/technology roadmaps and conduct technology lifecycle management
  • Define, own and maintain Network technology engineering designs, engineering standards
  • Align engineering/technology roadmaps items to target reference architecture and business needs/outcomes required
  • Gain partner team trust and instill confidence as well as develop relationships with key vendors

    Minimum Educational Requirements and Experience Equivalencies: • Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, Business or related field, plus five years' related experience, or;
    Associate's degree in a technical field, plus seven years' related experience, or; High School Diploma plus nine years' related experience.
