Position Summary

Provides strategy development, strategy analysis, and innovation / venture exploration support. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Strategy Consultant may focus on one or multiple areas outlined below:

 

Strategy Development

 

Coordinates the annual strategic planning process. 

 

Analyzes industry trends and competitive dynamics requiring evaluation of a variety of factors and potential outcomes.  Consults with business units and develops recommendations. 

 

Assists with delivering formal recommendations to senior and executive management.   Assists with meeting and presentation content development for senior and executive management and other key constituents (e.g., board), as requested.

 

Maintains knowledge of company products, programs, administrative policies and procedures. Partners to preserve, reinforce and strengthen ERIE business model keys and ensure they are present / consistent & measured within strategies.

 

Strategic Analysis

 

Analyzes strategic implications of macro, industry, and competitor developments.  Maintains competitive benchmark trending across key strategic and performance factors. 

 

Acts as a lead and executes on high quality strategic analysis and primary research in key areas.

 

Makes recommendations to leadership, delivering impactful analysis synthesizing wide arrays of information to form clear implications driving action.   

 

Consults with business areas and tracks the health and effectiveness of strategies at the Enterprise & key BU levels.  Monitors and measures strategic insights.

 

Strategy Exploration

 

Identifies partnership and/or acquisition opportunities that facilitate or accelerate execution of strategies and imperatives.  Creates experimental and technical designs.

 

Maintains and coordinates governance, and effective vetting of venture opportunities.  Assists with delivering  formal recommendations to senior and executive management.   Assists with meeting and presentation content development for senior and executive management and other key constituents (e.g., board), as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.  Six years of related experience required or role-relevant equivalencies in the forms of advanced business analysis, cross-functional project management or applying logic frameworks to solve complex problems.  Knowledge of insurance industry preferred.  Prior experience planning and framing large multi-phase strategic engagements preferred.
