Position Summary


Plans and leads small to medium technology initiatives including strategic projects, functional enhancements, operational maintenance, and upgrades of low-to-moderate complexity managing the entire project lifecycle from initiation through completion. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, ensuring that the solutions align with business goals and stakeholder expectations.

This position is for a Technology Project Manager within the Corporate Applications portfolio. We support IT-enabled projects for key organizational business functions including Corporate Services, Finance, HR and Law.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning & Monitoring: Develops comprehensive project plans, timelines, resource allocations, budgets, and status reports using project-planning tools and ERIE guidelines. Monitors progress against milestones, scope, and budget adjusting as needed to ensure optimal performance. Conducts Waterfall and/or Agile ceremonies in alignment with our selected ways of working and defined frameworks.
  • Risk & Dependency Management: Identifies and monitors dependencies across inter-related technology initiatives. Conducts risk analysis, document risks/issues, and monitor their resolution. Facilitates communication and ensure alignment across departments.
  • Technical & Analytical Guidance: Provides technical and analytical guidance to the project team to support decision-making. Ensures adherence to quality standards and completion of Software Development and Technology Lifecycle deliverables. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Serves as the primary point of contact between technical teams, vendors, and organizational stakeholders. Communicates with key stakeholders providing regular updates on status, risks, and metrics. Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Technical Expertise Development: Gains expertise in the principles and techniques required for the software development lifecycle. Develops knowledge of programming languages, IT databases, operating systems, and platforms.

Qualifications

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, Business, or related field, and two years related experience; or 
  • Associate degree in a technical field, and four years related experience; or 
  • High school diploma and six years related experience required. 
  • Advanced degree preferred.

 

Additional Experience 

  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, or Kanban project management methodologies, programming languages, IT platforms, and change management concepts required.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders required.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in IT project management and proficiency with automated project planning tools and Microsoft Office software required.
  • Insurance industry experience preferred.


Designations and/or Licenses 

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Agile Project Management Designations preferred.
  • Related insurance certifications preferred.
