Position Summary
Under moderate supervision, reviews results of self-reporting, telephone and physical premium audits and communicates changes to underwriting staff and Agents.
- There are 5 open positions.
- The successful candidate will work from our Knowledge Park Office and a hybrid schedule may be offered once trained.
- The successful candidate may be given the option to work fully remote if they are currently full time remote.
- The Hiring Manager will also consider candidates for Senior Commercial Audit Specialist. Level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Processes premium audits using financial records submitted by Policyholders and reviews financial records submitted to dispute the results of a premium audit. Revises audit if needed and communicates the decision to underwriters, Agents and Policyholders.Combine the two above.
Reviews basic audits. Verifies accuracy of figures and reviews notations by auditor. Reviews classification changes recommended by the auditor to determine if code changes are appropriate. Communicates classification changes to underwriters and Agents or requests approval to change classifications.
Understands and applies knowledge of the various manual rules and/or state laws regarding premium audit. Maintains and applies a basic understanding of the rates and premiums for each line of business, data entry formats and procedures used by the section and by underwriting.
Communicates premium audit information to auditors, Agents, Policyholders and Audit Service Companies by telephone and e-mail.

Acts as a liaison to Underwriting, Office of the President, Collections, State Bureaus, and State Insurance Departments on premium audit issues and answer audit-related complaints.
Assists the section supervisor with various projects.

Competencies
Qualifications
High school diploma, or GED, required. Two years of experience with commercial insurance, or equivalent, required. Rating experience preferred. Accounting-related experience preferred. Basic knowledge of e-mail, spreadsheet, word-processing software and mainframe systems required. Passing score on LOMASelect tests required. Willingness to enroll in Insurance/Technology courses preferred.
