Position Summary

Under minimum supervision monitors ERIE’s commercial pay-as-you-go payment program to determine policy eligibility, manage vendor relations, resolve account disputes, answer questions,  provides program guidance, and recommends and implements process improvement. 

 

  • The successful candidate will have experience with STG preferred.  
  • A hybrid schedule or if currently full-time remote that status can be kept.

Duties and Responsibilities

Determines a policy’s eligibility to enroll in ERIE’s commercial payment program. 

 

Enrolls policyholders and 3rd party payroll vendors in the program, informs customers of program’s requirements, and answers complex questions regarding the program. 

 

Handles the removal of policies that do not comply with program guidelines. 

 

Monitors payment activity, initiates ACH withdrawals, investigates and answers questions pertaining to account withdrawals or refunds.  Makes payment adjustments as needed.  Coordinates payment terms with policyholders, agents, DSMs, branch employees and SCIMs when necessary.

 

Processes audits and endorsements based on established guidelines set by general management in the division.

 

Develops and applies extensive underwriting knowledge of commercial policies that are subject to audit.

 

Works closely with Agents, management, various business areas and members of the program team to resolve account disputes, answer questions, and provide program guidance.

 

Maintains knowledge of the various manual rules and/or state laws regarding premium audit.  Maintains and applies a basic understanding of the rates and premiums for each line of business, data entry formats and procedures used by the section.

 

Reviews financial records submitted by Policyholders to complete and/or dispute the premium audit. 

 

Verifies accuracy of figures and reviews notations by auditor. Reviews classification changes recommended by the auditor to determine if code changes are appropriate.  Communicates classification changes to Underwriter and Agents or requests approval to change classifications.

 

Responds to agent, policyholder or internal customer calls/emails to answer complex questions and to explain the outcome and analysis on accounts.

 

Acts as a liaison to Underwriting, Office of the President, Collections, State Bureaus, and State Insurance Departments on premium audit issues and answer audit-related complaints.

 

Responsible for process/program improvement, identifies areas of improvement, recommends suggestions and implements changes, per supervisory approval.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required; or

 

Associates in business or related field and two year of insurance related experience;

 

Or High School Diploma, GED required with 4 years of insurance related experience required.

 

Experience processing commercial audits, processing complex audits and rating experience preferred.

 

Ability to use Microsoft word products; skilled in using Excel, use of Pivot Tables preferred.

 

Ability to read thru and navigate appropriate ERIE policy management, processing, and billing systems required.

 

Ability to read and access the logic of allocation of payments, transfers, audits required.

 

Familiarity with system requirements of producing refunds preferred.
