Position Summary
Provides legal representation to ERIE and its insureds in litigated matters, while overseeing day-to-day office operations and ensuring alignment with corporate goals and standards. Independently handles a complex caseload and provides leadership, mentoring, and performance management to other attorneys and staff within the office. Serves as the primary liaison between the local trial office and ERIE’s Home Office Law Division.
- This position will be based out of our Philadelphia Branch Office in Media, PA and oversee the Philadelphia Trial Office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel.
- Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.
- Represents ERIE and its insureds in civil litigation from inception through trial and appeal and
provides timely reporting and handling recommendations to ERIE Claims personnel. - Monitors and reports on office performance metrics, litigation outcomes, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborates with corporate leadership on strategic initiatives, staffing needs, and policy implementation.
- Participates in training and development programs to enhance litigation and trial
advocacy skills.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational Requirements
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.
Additional Experience
- Fifteen years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, required.
- Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in Pennsylvania required.
- Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in the Federal Courts in Pennsylvania preferred.
- Some periodic or overnight travel required.
- Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
