Position Summary

Exercises independent judgment in handling complex Home and Auto liability claims, including coverage issues, liability evaluation, injury assessment, negotiation and resolution strategy. Provides technical guidance to less experienced staff and supports consistent claim handling practices.


  • Candidate will primarily handle claims for Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
  • The successful candidate is required to have a valid Florida License or be willing to obtain it within 60 days of employment in the role.
  • Preferred candidate will work remote from Pennsylvania.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts investigations, evaluate and make recommendations regarding coverage and liability.

  • Handles claims involving complex liability, damages or coverages.

  • Negotiates with all parties, or their representatives, within designated authority.

  • Documents the file and submits reports.

  • Identifies subrogation opportunities and initiates appropriate action.

  • Completes required training.

  • The position requires the incumbent to provide support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.

  • Trains and mentors.

  • Travel for training may be required.

Qualifications

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and five years of claims related experience required; or
  • Associate degree and three years of claims related experience required; or
  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of claims related experience required.


Additional Experience

  • Working knowledge of liability coverages, laws, injury evaluation, reserving, negotiation and claim documentation required.
  • Travel for training may be required.


Designations and/or Licenses

  • Associate in Claims (AIC), Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA) or related designation preferred.
  • Appropriate license(s) as required by applicable state(s), including the ability to secure and maintain dual or multiple licenses as business needs require.
